Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

Training and Orientation:

Title: Medical Supervisor

Race Day Location: Aid Stations and Start/Finish Line

Overview: As the Medical Supervisor for an ESTEA Ultramarathon footrace, you will be responsible for overseeing all medical operations to ensure the safety and well-being of participants. Prior to the event, you will be part of race planning and communication with other race leaders and volunteers During the event, you will lead a team of medical professionals and volunteers, providing emergency medical care, injury assessment, and support throughout the event.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
Supervise a team of medical staff and volunteers, including nurses, physicians, and first responders.
Assign roles and responsibilities to ensure efficient operation of the medical station.
Conduct briefings and debriefings to communicate expectations and provide feedback.

Emergency Medical Care:
Provide immediate medical assistance to participants experiencing injuries, dehydration, exhaustion, or other medical emergencies.
Administer first aid, CPR, or other life-saving measures as necessary.
Coordinate with emergency services for advanced medical care and transportation if needed.

Injury Assessment and Treatment:
Assess and triage injuries, prioritizing treatment based on severity.
Splinting, wound care, and other treatments as appropriate.
Monitor participants’ conditions and provide ongoing medical support as they continue the race or withdraw.

Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain communication with race organizers, aid station staff, and medical personnel to ensure seamless coordination.
Collaborate with race officials and safety personnel to address any safety concerns or incidents along the course.
Document all medical interventions and incidents for post-event review and analysis.

Medical Supplies and Equipment:

Overview: We are seeking a reliable and efficient Logistics Runner to join our team for an ultramarathon footrace event. The Logistics Runner will play a crucial role in ensuring that aid stations along the race route are fully stocked with supplies and equipment to support participants.

Responsibilities:

Supply Collection: Collect necessary supplies and equipment from a designated location. This may include water, sports drinks, snacks, medical supplies, and any other required items.
Transportation: Safely transport collected supplies and equipment to designated aid stations along the race route. Utilize our vehicles or personal vehicles as assigned.
Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels at aid stations and replenish supplies as needed throughout the duration of the event. Communicate with race organizers to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
Coordination: Coordinate with aid station volunteers and staff to distribute supplies and equipment efficiently. Provide assistance and support as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as medical emergencies or unexpected changes in race conditions. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff.
Communication: Maintain open communication with race organizers, aid station volunteers, and other team members to provide updates on supply status, logistical challenges, and any other relevant information.

Qualifications:

Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, as well as navigate various types of terrain. The ultramarathon footrace environment may involve outdoor settings and challenging conditions.
Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to fulfilling assigned duties and responsibilities.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate professionally with team members, volunteers, and race organizers.

Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Experience driving larger vehicles or transporting supplies is a plus.

 

Additional Information: This position is temporary and will involve working during the duration of the ultramarathon footrace event.
Race availability and flexibility with scheduling are required.
Training will be provided prior to the start of the event to familiarize the Logistics Runner with specific protocols and procedures.
