We know many of you are wondering what we’re planning for those who registered for the Eastern States 100 2024, only to have your long-awaited plans upended by Tropical Storm Debby. We apologize for the delay in providing an update. We needed time to ensure all invoices and outstanding payments were settled; finalize our profit and loss statements, not just for Eastern States 100, but for our other events as well; and make sure everyone on our race team and our board of directors approved.
We’re offering 2024 participants three options:A $60 refund: While most of our costs were already incurred for a race that didn’t happen, we managed to keep expenses reasonable and allocate funds wisely. We also need to maintain enough reserves for 2025 and fulfill our commitments to the community and organizations we pledged to support.
Discounted early registration for 2025: You can choose a $60 credit on early registration for our 2025 event. 2024 participants who opt for this will be placed on a reserved entry list and can register two weeks before general registration opens. Returning runners will also receive extra swag—a fun item to commemorate the 2024 event, perhaps something like a “Solo, Crewed, and Screwed by Debby” keepsake.
Donation: You can opt to donate your 2024 registration fee to support the event and our charitable commitments.
We’ll be sending an email to all 2024 participants to ask which option you prefer. For those requesting a refund, we’ll need to confirm numbers, deposit the appropriate funds into RunSignup, and then issue the refunds. Participants choosing the discounted registration will receive a one-time use registration code two weeks before general registration opens.
When is registration? Last year, I acknowledge, the registration date wasn’t ideal, coinciding with other races like Worlds End, Black Forest, and the holiday season, which forced some to make tough financial decisions. This year, we’re opening registration earlier to avoid those conflicts.
Regular registration will open Monday, Sept. 30th at 6pm. Our special registration for Debby Downers will be Sept. 16th.
