We’ll be tracking every runner (and pacer) throughout the course. That means:
Bib on the front, always visible. If we can’t see your number, you may be stopped or even disqualified. Putting you bib on your pack and running backwards into an aid station isn’t funny.
Check IN and OUT of every aid station—even if you’re just cruising through. A recorder will have a clipboard and a florescent vest—be sure to say your bib # directly to this person.
Your progress is relayed to HQ by aid station communications teams. They can’t track you if you don’t check in.
Dropped? Missed a cutoff? You must surrender your bib to the aid station captain. It’s not a punishment—it’s how we know you’re safe and off-course.
IMPORTANT:
If you leave the course without checking in or notifying an aid station, we’ll assume you’re lost and may contact emergency services. That’s a quick way to jeopardize the future of this race—and earn yourself a ban from future events. If you drop, you can become part of someone else’s crew, but then you’re under Crew Rules:
– Only meet your runner at designated crew-accessible aid stations
– Don’t expect a ride from race staff—we’re not your Uber.
Thanks for helping us keep this wild ride safe, smooth, and sustainable. Let’s make it another unforgettable year in the PA Wilds.
